Before you accept your offer — or even if you already have — use this checklist to make sure you've really thought through the important parts of the program.
Understanding What You're Signing Up For
I reviewed all possible CP roles and their descriptions.
I understand that I applied to the program and not a specific role and I've agreed to accept any role.
I understand that accepting a spot means accepting not just any role but ANY LOCATION ( Parking, Skyliner, Resorts, Disney Springs, ESPN, etc.).
I understand not all CPs work in the parks — assignments can be anywhere (a resort, Disney Springs, ESPN, the Skyliner, Parking, etc.).
I know weekly hours can range from 30 hours (tight budget) to 50+ hours (physically demanding).
I understand many roles require long hours, heavy walking, physical tasks, and extended standing.
ACCOMMODATIONS - If I need medical accomodations it is my job to follow the process to apply for them. I acknowledge that 'bringing a doctors note' will not get me approved accomodations and that I need to have specific forms completed and submitted before I arrive. I also acknowledge that if I have anxiety issues, there is no accommodation that Disney can provide to place me in a role or location that 'does not cause stress or anxeity'.
I understand that I'm expected to have the independent living skills needed to complete the program. (Shopping, Cooking, Cleaning, Communication, Problem Resolution, Scheduling, etc.)
Flamingo Crossings Housing
I understand I can list preferences, but most units are 2x2 shared rooms, so 4x2 or 4x4 is unlikely.
I understand I cannot request a specific roommate.
I understand that I can't end my Flamingo lease early without ending my program. In other words, I can't decide I don't like living at Flamingo and go find another apartment. (If I don't want to live at Flamingo I can opt-out during registration.)
I understand that there is no age limit for DCP or Flamingo. I may have roommates that are significantly older than me.
I understand that there is a possibility of having conflicts with roommates. If that happens, there are some resources that can help resolve the issues, but basically, Disney and Flamingo treat participants as adults and will expect me to communicate with others and solve my own problems.
I understand that unless I opt-in for Mixed Gender housing, I will be placed in an apartment with others of my same gender. However, opposite sex overnight guests (if they are other program participants) are allowed. That means I could be a female in a 2x2 sharing a room and bathroom with another female and her boyfriend.
If I have allergies or just don't want to live with dogs, cats or other animals in my apartment, I understand that I have to indicate that when I register for housing. If I already registered but want a PET FREE apartment, I need to submit the form on the Flamingo website.
I understand that if I voluntarily end my program early or if Disney involuntarily ends my program early, I will be required to move out of my Flamingo apartment by 10:00AM the next day. No exceptions. (I have a plan for what I would do if that were to happen.)
